The Long Lake Fire Department is a volunteer department that serves the City of Long Lake, and portions of the Cities of Medina and Orono.  There are approximately 31 members serving this department. Call volume is approximately 350 responses annually.  The Long Lake Fire Department has one fire station.

Note: Since 2004, the Excelsior Fire has assisted Long Lake Fire by providing manpower and training resources to establish a new fire station in the Navarre area of Orono, an area previously served by Mound Fire.  Until the end of 2006, Excelsior will operate the new station as their third station.  In 2007, Excelsior Station 3 will revert to the control of Long Lake and become Long Lake Station 2.  Upon completion of the Navarre station, the City of Orono will be served exclusively by Long Lake from the new station.
