RWFD currently has 25 career firefighter/paramedics and 30 paid-on-call
firefighters. We average over 3,000 fire and medical calls annually. We
provide fire protection to the City of Red Wing, Wacouta Township, Diamond
Bluff Township (WI) and the Prairie Island Indian Community. We provide
ambulance protection to an even larger areas of Goodhue County, MN and
Pierce County, WI. Also, Bay City no longer has a fire department to our
north and that district is protected by Ellsworth.
